My favorite inspirational quote is by Marianne Williamson.
OUR DEEPEST FEAR
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.
We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others
~ Marianne Williamson
I had the opportunity to meet Marianne Williamson. I even signed my book for her!
I encourage you to do what I do. When you wake up in the morning, center yourself and take a few relaxing, gentle breaths. When you are ready, open a book of your choosing that you keep next to your bed and read an inspiring quote. Trust yourself to be guided to the exact, right page for the message that will be most helpful to you that day.
You might choose Marianne Williamson or another progressive author such as Louise Hay or Wayne Dyer. One of my favorite books by Marianne is Illuminata, a book of prayers. I use the morning prayer to set the tone for the day. In the evening, I use her evening prayers to set my intention to be prepared for the highest level of service the following day.
Whatever calls to you is fine. It's about aligning yourself and setting intentions for the highest good for you and those you touch. Everything you do that promotes your own inner peace helps promote peace in the world. We all deserve to feel inner peace and there are ways to promote and maintain this.
The Women's March on Washington earlier this year, on Saturday, January 21st was no less than incredible, powerful, and inspiring. Demonstrations like the ones that started with the Women's march have not been seen since the 1960's! Better late than really late. It's one of many ways to help promote peace.
The experience of coming together to advocate for Women's rights felt important to be involved in and I went to Washington to take part with my sisters. The estimate of 400,000 marchers ended up drawing over 1 million women who marched to the excitement, amazing of all of us. The Washington Women's march led the way for many sister marches to take place all over the country and around the world.
Congratulations and kudos to all of you reading this who attended and are continuing to take actions for our collective cause.
As individuals and a collective body, we are being challenged to move out of the Little me and into the Big me. The Big me is here to make a difference in our world. This is the collective wake up call.
When I attended the annual Sister Giant Conference that Marianne Williamson put on, it was very rich with vital information given by top speakers about what is going on with our current government administration and actions we can and need to take to resist what is happening.
